Create Download-Links from Folder

Hi there,

probably someone of you has an idea how or with wich plugin to solve this:
I’d have a folder on my webspace (or an external cloud-storage like nextcloud) where a user can upload files (.pdf, .doc) via ftp.

Now I would like to have wordpress show download-links to all files in this specific folder, i.e. by using a shortcode, that can placed in cornerstone.

My goal is to have a solution, where the office staff can upload new forms, documents etc. without having wordpress access, just via dropping files in the right folder.

I don’t need any access control - all download-links will be public.

Any ideas?

Hi Tristup,
as download-links from a folder are nothing THAT special, I hoped someone in here could suggest a plugin that solves this. In typo3 it’s a native function, so I wondered, if noone found out a way to do it with wordpress.
Well let’s see, probably there is a way without developping someting new

Hi Uli,

We don’t recommend any 3rd party plugins as we don’t offer support on that. The uploading files and creating a download link is a quite complex job in the WordPress and that is why I suggested those options.
