Correct way to embed Slider Rev

Hello fantastic people,
Recently I revamped my website and replaced my webpages with Slider Rev modules. I went to my Wordpress dashboard, chose the relevant page, “edit page”, and plonked the Slider Rev shortcode there. I enabled the “blank template” option. Please see screenshot.

If have more than one Slider Rev module on the same webpage, I just put the shortcodes one after another.

But I learnt yesterday that I can also go to the Theme Layout Builder and plonk it into Section, under “Text”. If there is more than one Slider Rev module on the same page, I just created another Section, and do the same.

From your forum, I also found yet another method in this documentation:

May I know if there is a difference in the various methods of embedding Slider Rev? Is there any implication at the front end (eg loading time) for each method?

Hi @iamwithU,

Thanks for reaching out.
Apart from adding the Revolution Slider shortcode in the Default Editor or the Text element in the Cornerstone you can add the Sliders to the page using the Slider Settings on each page as shown in the given screenshot.

I would also suggest you go through the following article which may help you with this.

Thanks

Thanks @tristup for the very prompt response.
So my method is correct - putting the shortcode of each module one after another?
That will be the fastest way, isn’t it…

Pray tell me, is there a difference in loading or any impact on the front end, other than the above or below the Theme header in your method?

Hi @iamwithU,

Yes, your method is also correct. And, there is no difference in both the method of loading or putting any impact in the front.

Thanks

Cool, that clears it up! Thanks a lot, @tristup

Hello @iamwithU,

Glad that we were able to help you. Please feel free to open a new thread if you have any more concerns regarding our theme and theme settings.

Thanks

So I’m using Pro and add the Rev Slider shortcode to a Text box that was within a Section>Row>Column>Text>Rev slider shortcode

Is this ok to do it this way? I seem to have loading problems on my slider and it takes forever to load, if at all.

I’ve tried adding it to the Below Masthead and it populates differently than how it does in the Section I created for it.

I can create my own thread for this if you’d like.

But I need to get to the bottom of this, because I feel I’m struggling with the way it’s loading

If you want to check it out. I currently have both Below Masthead and shortcode in a Section.

I like having it in it’s own section so I can put it below some other content I’d prefer to have at the top of my website, below my header.

But if it’s causing loading delays by doing this, I’ll just stick to Below Masthead

Hello John,

You have inserted the same Slider that you have assigned in the Below Masthead settings. Having duplicate slider displaying on the same page will have some issues with the Slider plugin. One of those would be duplicate IDs or object which would somehow relates o the loading problems of the slides. Test your page by using different sliders on the same page.

By the way, also make sure that in your Slider Revolution global settings, turn OFF the “Include Libraries Globally”. Check out my usual settings:

Best Regards.

I can’t find those Global Settings like your screenshot, where do I find them?

Hi John,

You need to click into the Global menu in the Slider Revolution > Overview as shown in the given screenshot.

To avoid any confusion, I would request you open a new thread for further assistance.

Thanks

Ah ok I found them thanks!

So I did have “Include library globally” turned off

But I also see I have 3 other things under Page Loading Optimization turned off that you have turned on.

Should I turn all of these on then?

Hey John,

Leave them OFF or you can also play around with those settings and see what works best for you.

Cheers.
