Cornerstone - "The preview was unpresponsive after loading'

Hi there, I’m getting this error message trying to edit my site with Cornerstone:

“The preview was unresponsive after loading. This is most often related to a plugin conflict or aggressive page cacheing.”

I’ve looked at other threads and tried clearing my cache, disabling other plug-ins, increasing the PHP max execution time with .htaccess and increasing the memory available using wp-config.php.

Looking at the debugging console, I’m getting an error saying ‘Cannot tween a null target’.

Any help appreciated!

Actually, the error may be ‘Unable to get property ‘indexOf’ of undefined or null reference’

followed by ‘ajaxurl’ is not defined’

The ‘Cannot tween a null target.’ error goes away with Slider Revolution deactivated.

However, I can’t use Cornerstone with or without Slider Revolution deactivated

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, please do the troubleshooting procedure that you have not done yet here.

If nothing works, please provide us login credentials (wp-admin and FTP) in a secure note so we can take a closer look.

Cheers!

Hi, I’ve spent a while trying to troubleshoot this but still not having any luck. I’ve sent through details in a secure note. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,

Been testing it but no luck, the error is due to slider animation. And even if I disable it, it’s still there and the changes I made is not taking effect. Could you try re-installing the slider and disable some fade-in animation of your slider? Please backup your site before re-installing it, that process could remove your existing slides.

And if your host has built-in caching then please disable it while we’re troubleshooting.

Thanks!

Thanks for looking into this!

I’ve fixed all errors due to Slider Revolution - the only errors I see in the console now are the same ones that I get with Slider Revolution deactivated.

I’ve contacted my host and deactivated caching with some entries in the .htaccess file

Hi there,

Still no luck, the ajaxurl error was an old error when some widgets are present. It shouldn’t be there, would you mind cloning your site in a sub folder? Let’s troubleshoot it in staging, I see a similar issue before and when migrated to staging, the error disappears.

Thanks!

Hi Rad

Site has been cloned… I’ll put details in the secure note. I’m getting the same errors at my end.

Hi there,

Thank you for the information, the problem seemed to be originated from how you set up the permalinks. I went to Settings > Permalinks and changed it to only post name and added a test Page in the staging website and it is working ok now.

Would you please do the same and see the result?

Thank you.

AMAZING! THANK YOU!!

I’ve done this on the main website… finally can get changes made to the site. I was worried I was going to have to rebuild from scratch. I wouldn’t have figured that out in a million years!

You’re welcome!
We’re glad we were able to help you out.
