Cornerstone still breaks site, version 5.0.7

The update, just like other versions fails to load cornerstone shortcodes (cs-content). As a result, the content fails to load and breaks the site. I reverted back to the old version but I did take some screenshots. I will provide links in a secure note. I did update theme x to the latest version, just not cornerstone.

It is working because like I wrote at the very beginning I did not update cornerstone!! When cornerstone is updated all the text below the main image in the front page disappears!! I am using cornerstone shortcdes [cs-content] [/cs-content) If I remember the shortcode correctly. I know the screenshots expired, just go the link I gave and see the text below the main image. That disappears when im updating cornerstone. I didnt update to the latest version but I dont think that even addresses it.

I REVERTED BACK TO THE OLD VERSION, UNDDER 5.0.0!!! WHY YOU DONT READ WHAT I WRITE? THE CONENT INSIDE CORNERSTONE SHORTCODE DOES NOT SHOW WHEN i UPDATE CORNERSTONE. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I WROTE. I WAITED 12 HOURS FOR WHAT, COPY-PASTE OF YOUR OLDER REPLY JUST WITH A NEW SCREENSHOT IN A SECURE NOTE? I NEED A SOLUTION PLEASE.

Hi @Bark201,

I checked your site and found that you have updated the X theme to the 8.0.9 version but the Cornerstone is still at 4.2.3. The issue you specified may be due to the improper up-gradation of Cornerstone, sometimes upgrading the Cornerstone directly from the plugin causing the issue.
I would recommend you to update the X theme to the recent version i.e 8.0.10, which has some issues already fixed, and follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

If that does not resolve your issue, please provide the credentials for your live server to check.

Take the following and copy-paste it into cornerstone versions before 5. It shows. Now copy paste it to cornerstone’s versions above 5, it doesnt work. It comes out blank. The problem surfaced since cornerstone 5.0.0. Please provide a fix for it. The page was not built using cornerstone as it existed before. I am using cornerstone shortcodes for the containers as it is a full width blank template. The latest version of cornerstone did not fix this.

I’m sorry you’re running into this issue. The Cornerstone builder data is stored in the post_meta table. The shortcodes just provide some context for how to structure the front end output, but there’s more metadata that is used to generate the final CSS and HTML on the front end. You are not supposed to copy and paste the shortcodes because doing that will only copy the shortcodes without the post meta. You will need to create the page in Cornerstone instead. If you want to use the page layout that you have created for another page, you will have to save the page as a template and reuse it when you create another page.

At the moment, it is best that you recreate the page from scratch. And by the way, please always make sure to use the paired version for both the theme and Cornerstone. The current release is X theme 8.0.10 and Cornerstone 5.0.10.
