Cornerstone shows different layout in backend and frontend after update

Hi There,

After updating to the latest versions of WP and Cornerstone there are some issues regarding the layout.
Viewing backend shows something different than frontend.

I’m using Cornerstone (stand alone, NOT with X-theme) but with the Shoptimizer theme

Hope there’s a quick update for this issue.

Before the update everything was fine.

Hello @Marco,

Thank you for the very detailed post information. I have checked your contact us page and I found out that the hero section is not aligned to the second section because of the padding you have applied on the first section.

Also, please reduce the gap width in your row settings.

If you are not seeing the other element style options, you will need to enable the Advanced Mode.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thx for you feedback.

I changed the padding by myself to do some testing.

The problem is that you don’t see the margin in the backend. ‘Most asked Questions’ is cut off.
And what happend to the height of the accordion elements…? It looks completely different than the frontend.

All the pages edited with Cornerstone have the same problem. See the customer service page. No margin left in Cornerstone, Accordion is not correct. No columns, everything looks messed up in the backend.

Grtz Marco

Global blocks, same problem. Everything is messed up…

Tested with Safari and Chrome on MacOS Catalina. Latest versions.

On the product page the description area is not editable with Cornerstone anymore. Instead it appears under the ‘Shipping’ tab.

Hi Marcus,

There’s a new update for Cornerstone which is Cornerstone 5.0.8, please update your plugin. After updating the plugin, go to Cornerstone > Settings and clear the style cache. Please let us know if it solves your issue.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thx for your feedback.

I updated Cornerstone to 5.08, cleared the style cache. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.

Hi,

I see there’s a new version (5.09). Updated but still the same problem :frowning:

Hi @Marco,

I have thoroughly checked your site and found the issue you have mentioned, by activating the parent theme and reactivating the child has resolved the issue.

If you are still facing the same issue, there might be a few different reasons behind the issue you are having. I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues to find the reason behind it.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it.
3.CSS/JS Customization
4.Disabling Cache

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If that does not help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

Please note that a few hours ago we have released another version of the Cornerstone with some fixes, I would recommend you to update your plugin to the latest one.

Thanks

Sorry, it takes too long.

I have to adjust some pages.
Reverted to Version 4.2.3.
Everything is fine now.

Please let me know when there’s a stable version working with other themes. Thx!

Was the issue solved?

I have the same issues with my site. The steps proposed above did not solve the problem for me.

Best
Julian

Hello Tristup,

Don’t know how you managed it but I have still the same problem.
Even after updating Cornerstone to version 5.09.

Site is not live yet so no problem to freely troubleshoot. See secure note in my first comment.

thx for the support.

Hi Berzborn,

Problem not fixed. Still the same backend problems.

Hello Tristup,

When I look at your screenshot, I see that Cornerstone 4… is active.

When you where logged in, minutes before I downgraded Cornerstone to the stable version.
That’s why the backend was OK.

grtz

Hi Marco,

You might be correct, you have downgraded the Cornerstone while I was checking and that makes me confuse. I check the Cornerstone latest version in the local environment and found a similar issue. I will report this issue to our issue tracker so this issue will be queued for fixing by our development team.
Please stay tuned for succeeding releases with the fixes.

Thanks for understanding.

Hi,

Ok, thx for the feedback. Will wait for a new release.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

Just to let you know. I have to make some adjustments so I downgraded Cornerstone to the stable version.

Hello Marco,

We have already reported the issue to our issue tracker so this issue will be queued for fixing by our development team.
Please stay tuned for the succeeding theme versions as the fix will be included in one of them.
