Cornerstone Posts RSS Excerpt Description Issue

Our group is having an issue related to the RSS items. Specifically the “Excerpt Description” content.

We recently noticed that RSS item descriptions only contain a single tag. We are curious if the recent updates to Cornerstone introduced this quirk.

Here is the FEED with the examples of items consisting of only a single image tag. Items dated 12/18 and earlier are examples of the description with multiple tags. Each post after 12/18 is an example of descriptions only having a single tag.

Would it be possible to get some guidance on narrowing down the issue?

Hello @kenfbell,

Thanks for writing in! The issue could just be because of the cache. It could also be caused by a plugin conflict, amongst other things. Please check out this troubleshooting article here and follow the instructions for the following sections (where appropriate):

Testing for Plugin Conflict
Child Theme
CSS/JS Customization
Disabling Cache
Disabling CDN

Hey Rue,
I was following up on this question in the forum, and I found that Cornerstone is the source of this behavior, and it has been designed to function this way.

If we want the copy of posts to appear in RSS items, we cannot use Cornerstone as the editor without augmenting its functionality.

The introduction of our issue was because of a change in our internal process to exclusively write posts/pages with Cornerstone, and it was not a bug introduced by an update to Cornerstone.

Hey @kenfbell,

That is, regretfully, the case. Bloggers who use RSS don’t usually use page builders for their content.
