Why do I get this message in my plugins section for cornerstone?? “Cornerstone has not been updated in over two years which indicates that it is no longer supported by the developer. There could be security issues that will not be fixed! Please reach out to the developers to ensure this is still supported or look for alternatives and uninstall this plugin.”
Thank you for writing in, is that the site you’re working on below? I checked that site and its Cornerstone is actually up to date (4.2.3), it’s your X theme that is needed to be updated to 7.2.3 to avoid incompatibility issue with the latest Cornerstone.
Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
The Cornerstone that you’re having the message might be a different one that is not from us.
Since this is a major update for your site, it would be best to setup a staging site and do the update from there so that the live site will not be affected in case there will be any issues with the update and you will be able to do some testing.
Here are some search results on how to setup a staging site:
If you already have X 7.2.3 and Cornerstone 4.2.3, the FTP access is no longer necessary. The error should also be gone by now. Unless, you have another copy of the Cornerstone plugin installed in your plugins section.
If nothing is helping, provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:
