Cornerstone can´t be updated anymore due to wrong landing pages

Hi, there.
The issue was already discussed last month but since it has been closed without providing a general solution I have to reopen it as a new topic.

Outside the forum I was in contact with Christian at 20 October 2025 who confirmed the issue.
As described by Tim845, WordPress informs me that a newer version of Cornerstone is available:
Cornerstone_7-7-13_available

Clicking either at “Details anzeigen” or “Details der Version 7.7.13 anzeigen”, which means “show details”, the links end in general at https://theme.co/cornerstone/.
Now and then I get offered the details of a differnt product called “Cornerstone” from Archetyped, as shown by Tim845.

For sure, the trial to update Cornerstone by selecting “jetzt aktualisieren” (update now) fails:

Afterwards, my website is down for a couple of minutes:

According the hints I found in searching the www, it is possible to update plugins by the same way like themes: All I need is a zip-file of the plugin, i.e. Cornerstone. Then I install it as a new plugin and the elder release is overwritten by the new one.

Wouldn´t it work out it in this way to enable me the update from Cornerstone 7.6.10? :thinking:

Hey André,

I confirmed your previous issue but the Cornerstone by Archetyped is a separate issue. You’re most probably looking for Cornerstone in the WordPress repository that’s why you get the Cornerstone by Archetyped plugin. We don’t offer our Cornerstone plugin in the WordPress repo.

The solution for you is to:

  1. don’t search Cornerstone in the WordPress repository
  2. delete all Cornerstone plugins in your site. It would be best that you log in to your server / web host, open your file manager and go to wp-content/plugins. In there, delete all the cornerstone folder you see.
  3. I see you have the latest version of X so what you need to do after deleting Cornerstone is to check for the THEMECO notification to install and activate Cornerstone.

Cornerstone 7.7.13 is running:

I had to change the provider end of April and had no option but to choose a backup from UpdraftPlus. This worked fine but perhaps something went wrong in terms of Cornerstone because the updates worked fine for almost two years. :man_shrugging:

Anyway, now all is running perfectly. :clap:
