Cornerstone builder displaying a multiple column look on posts

Hi Guys
Just updated to Cornerstone 5.01 and a few strange things happening here in the builder which weren’t there prior. The web view is correct but in Cornerstone its showing 4 col inside a 20% column.

Can you have a look at this and thanks in advance

Hey @philysgdy,

I have replicated the issue in my test site so I’m going to post this in our issue tracker so it will be queued to be fixed.

There’s, regretfully, no workaround or temporary solution for this so please stay tuned for the fix. Just note that we can’t provide a timeline as to when this will be fixed but our development team is working bug fixing systematically.

Thanks.

Thanks Christian
Let’s hope it’s a quick resolution i need to address 294 old posts with this new style and it looks like the only way is to do it is manually. Having to facing each post build with that is not something l look forward to.
Can you advise on a replication process or workflow that would allow me to replicate the update?
I am thinking –

  • Create a template and methodically

  • Apply without altering content

  • Bring in feature image to content

This is what I am looking at For starters and there is more, any thoughts I would appreciate you guidance

Hi @philysgdy,

Are you referring to fixing the column sizing issue? Ideally we’ll be able to fix this regression in a theme update so you won’t have to make any changes. Once that update is ready you can test it on your staging site.

Thanks Alex
I have complete confidence in your ability to solve these issues. No, my question was around a site rebuild that we are doing and as part of that is to update 294 existing posts applying a new style. Is there a smart workflow to this task? In my previous reply I started to put forward a series of tasks and was wondering if you guys have an approach to automating some of these.
The URL I shared above represents the new style.
This URL is representative of the old style

Look forward to your thoughts

Hey @philysgdy,

The solution to that is to create a custom Single Post layout using the Layout Builder. You can find the usage instruction here https://theme.co/docs/layout-builder-overview

Hope that helps.

Hi Christian
Because I’m building this staging site on a Subdomain I could not use Pro as my original build is in X . Can I do what you are suggesting in X it looks like a Pro building tool which is cool?

Hi @philysgdy,

The Layout Builder is exclusively available to the Pro theme only. This is not available on the X theme. You can assign the staging site URL to one of your Pro licenses so that you can use Pro and the Layout Builder.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rue
Should I purchase a Pro license and apply it to this subdomain address? If so will this interfere with the live site X license I have for johnbarilaro.com.au? Wouldn’t transferring it from mygoalseeker.com to the staging.johnbarilaro.com.au undo the UX on mygoalseeker.com?

Hi @philysgdy,

You can transfer the license from one site to another site, but in that case, the other site will not be valid anymore. Alternatively, you can try by adding the X theme site as the staging of the Pro license site, please remember that you should remove that site from the X license before adding it to Pro.

Thanks
