Cornerstone add media button

Hello!
I am trying to add an image into a text element using Cornerstone by double-clicking directly in the content of the text element and using the edit tools. However, while editing in this manner, the “add media” button doesn’t work. If I select the text element and use the editing tools in the dashboard area (not sure what that area is called…the sidebar on the left…), I can change from HTML to Rich Text and the add media button does work. I’m using the latest version of Cornerstone and X. Thanks for your help!
