I will do that. And I am not sure if this is still happening with the Personify setup, but using Personify completely breaks the entire ability to use the templates.
I have tried it in every way. I had used Personify a while back on a project and built a custom hero and a few more sections. And I wanted to reuse that in another projects. Normally, just save as a template and import. Done.
With this, it doesn’t matter how you do it, whether it is a page, or just one section of a page, when you save as a template, export and import it brings over the entire site. All the media item, all pages, headers, footers, theme options, which wreaks havoc on the new site.
I was able to import everything and then had to go back and manually delete all of the Personify stuff that came over. Super tedious.
I did this for two sections that I built that did not even leverage the Personify setup. I brought that over into a clean custom site that had zero to do with Personify and now it is wrecked as well. When I try to save a section template from a on Personify install the entire site is contained in the export file.
I will send you what I have on my end but it might be worth hitting one of your Personify installs and see if you can replicate the issue.
Unrelated feedback on Personify: I was really excited to try it when it came out. It was super clean and organized. But using it makes things considerably more difficult. A novice user or client will never figure out how to manage the site. While I am sure the design is optimal, the math formulas in the fields for sizes of fonts, etc is confusing even for a reasonably experienced developer. Most of that can be controlled with the UI using things like em, rem, or px which most people don’t understand what that is.
No one who handles the tier 1 or tier 2 support can help without taking up a lot of time to find things.
I really like the Atomic framework but I find it not very practical for use. Maybe at the enterprise level but the SMB sector it is not useful.
I find that using Cornerstone in its normal raw state creates the most simple and easy to use (once you understand it - and developers stop putting everything in the Global CSS or JS box) tool available. It’s complex because there are so many options but with even a reasonable amount of training on the UI it makes customer support, and even direct client use efficient.
Best tool and framework on the market. I’ve used them all and have even tried leaving for Elementor twice, because of the adoption from others.
Leaving X Pro for Elementor is like stepping out of a Lamborghini and into a 1987 Toyota Corolla with manual seats and windows.
