Contrast and legibility issue with layout, get started and element pickers / outlines

Hey Charlie,

The text color in the layout and get started pickers is a little too light. Here it’s light grey on a white background which makes the text very hard to read. The tiny font size doesn’t help either. Would you be willing to take another look at these and to possibly up the contrast a bit?

A couple of years ago there was a topic on making the outlines and contents of these empty pickers and empty element pickers automatically adapt to the background color so that they’re always clearly visible with enough contrast provided between the outline color and the background color.
Currently with some colors (try making the background a bright red for example) the outline is grey and is less clearly visible. The automatic color adaptation of the pickers is still not perfect.

Perhaps now, after a couple of years have passed, techniques and technology have improved to make this dynamic color detection work better?

It sounds like it’d be way easier to just have the background of this “Choose Layout” section be white. We could invert the colors, but in your red background example it would result in this UI being a weird Cyan color. We’ll discuss internally next week. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for looking into it. Enjoy your weekend as well!
