Contact form 7 error message "There was an error trying to send your message...."

Hi, I get the following error on all contact form 7 forms:

There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

Initially, the recaptcha also disapeared. After trying to get new API keys for v3, and not having any joy, I installed ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7. This got recaptcha back (with a new API Key). However, I still get the error message. Please have a look and let me know if there is something obvious I am missing.

install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-smtp/

set that up with proper SMTP authentication, and try again. if it still isn’t sending, look in:
Dashboard > Post SMTP > logs

you should find your answer there… but, my money is on SMTP not being authenticated

I allready have wp SMTP installed. Should I delete it and reinstall the other one?

Hi Ben,

Is that plugin has a log file? Please see the log, we might get a clue what is the issue. If not, try the plugin suggested by splaquet above.

Also, please deactivate the reCaptcha and clear your caching plugin/feature for a while to make sure this issue is not related to these things.

If the issue persists, please do a Testing for Plugin Conflict.

Thanks,
