Cont: Pagination Error

This is a continuation for a closed topic. Feel feel to re-open an cont. thread.

I’ve tried to turn off the looper many times. Leaving it on was my attempt for a fix. But the problem persists with or without looper.

Pagination pages cannot be found
https://cleanstream.se/blogg/page/2/
I’ve even tried with the swedish translation for page “sida”. It does not work.

I don’t understand how the pagination is supposed to work as there are no settings.

What can I do?

Another Swedish blog has a pagination error where it repeats the same posts on every page. I don’t know if it is related.

Hi @marcuszacco,

Thanks for reaching out.
For now, the pagination and the navigation element work with a few pre-defined templates only. If you want to use that in custom layout, you can save that pre-defined template and load it in your custom template to get it work.

EMpty - Layout Builder - Pro (2)

EMpty - Layout Builder - Pro (1)

Hope it helps.
Thanks

I’m confused. I understand that there are predefined blog templates somewhere, but where do they reside so I can save the template, as described in step 1? They are not in Layout Builder by default.

If I create an empty page and tell WP to use it as a blog - it will - but I can’t pull up the laoyut in Cornerstone.

I would appreciate a step by step on this one. Thx.

– I’m also questioning what I’m missing as this should be an issue for every single person choosing to create a custom archive layout, and there is no mention anywhere that BTW pagination does not work?!

Hi @marcuszacco,

Sorry for the confusion, I completely missed out that you are using the Custom Archive Layout . You can get that while creating the Layout as shown in the screenshot.

Once the Template is loaded you can save it as Template as shown in the previous reply and use it in your Custom Layout.

The pagination work perfectly with the Archive Layout, if you are using any custom layout it might be some reason why that pagination is not working and that is why I suggested you to replicate it from predefined template. If you want us to investigate the reason behind it, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

NOTE: Please remember that you don’t need to set any Looper Provider for the Pagination in Archive layout.

Thanks

Solved
What I did was:

Create new archive layout “temp”
Open to edit
Select Pagination
Go to Presets and saved it as preset “Pagination v1.0”
Close page

Open Custom Layout
Go to Pagination Element
Select Preset, Apply Preset “Pagination v1.0”
Save

View blog page on front page.
Works.

Hello @marcuszacco,

Glad that you were able to achieve it and thank you for sharing the steps.

Thanks
