Conflict with Cornerstone and Custom 404 plugin

Hi,

Ive got a bug similar to this https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/custom-404-plugin-not-working-with-custom-headers/8222/3
except that when I create a custom 404 page it seems to work fine. However, when I try to edit it with cornerstone, I get the conflict at the front end error message.

Is this a known bug and is there a workaround?

Thanks,

Hi There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials(by clicking on the Secure Note button at the bottom) so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password

Thanks.

Hey there,

Your using a third party plugin for your 404 page. Please use the Custom 404 plugin that comes with X.

Thanks.

Ive used that plugin and have edited content using the new Cornerstone editor (UGH - horrible) but none of the text appears on the page. Is this a new Cornerstone bug or am I doing something silly?

Thanks

Hello @wbc,

Can you please try accessing the 404 page now? https://screencast.com/t/XI7gG8uZcADH

Thanks.

Same thing. I see the same as you in Cornerstone, but when you access a page all you get is the image.

Hi there,

I’m able to reproduce some of this issue on my installation but not totally blank. I like to test your setup first and compare it to my end, in my case, it only displays shortcodes (raw content). While in your site, it processed the data but empty.

Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials? I like to edit the actual template and see what’s going on with do_shortcode().

Thanks!

I dont have the ftp login sorry. I dont use FTP.

Can you look without FTP?

Hi There,

How about access to cPanel? (its more efficient and comfortable with FTP though)

In the meantime, please update your X theme to the latest version (5.2.2) to make sure that this is not a compatibility issue.

Thanks,

Hi,

Ive managed to locate the FTP settings in the secure note. Would you mind checking there please and seeing if those are ok.

Thanks,
W

Hi there,

Can’t get in with those FTP credentials. It says authentication failed, I’m not sure if it’s due to wrong credentials but would you mind testing the FTP? Or maybe there is a firewall or security that blocks access from other countries?

Thanks!

Sorry updated now in the secure note. Ive tested it and seems to work fine. please take another look.

Thanks

Hi there,

The last checked that I did is 13 days ago and looks like you already updated it to the recent version. Now, I’m able to edit the custom 404 page, could you try it again this time?

Thanks!
