Component changes are not changing

Hi!

I’d expect that when I make some changes to a component, those changes should be visible on the pages where i’ve used the component.

I’ve tried two different elements and exported them, but the changes is not showing.
Is that a bug, or am I doing sonething wrong?

Thanks
Hallur

Howdy, @rbitfoto!

Thanks for writing in…just to confirm, you are:

  1. Building your Components in the Component Builder.
  2. Exporting them using the Element Manager in the Component Builder.
  3. Going to another Builder and adding your exported Component via the “Components” section under the Element Library, not using the “Component” Element (which simply pulls through all the markup from your Component Set).

See my quick video here showing how I have a Button Component setup as an export, then add it to a page, then go back to the main Component file to make a quick change, which is then reflected back on the page (apologies for the slow page refreshes, when I screencapture on my 2015 Mac and try to do anything else it nearly wants to quit on me, haha).

time to get an M1 macbook then… im loving mine

Oh yes…the time for a new computer has come, haha.

This is practically what I did.

But se my video https://youtu.be/AeOuqfAdUrw
I thought that, if I made a, let’s say, button setup. And used that button throughout the site, and made some changes to the component, those changes would follow through on the whole site?

There are no caching, and I cleared the browser as well.

Cheers!

@rbitfoto, you are correct in what you’re saying! That’s exactly how Components should work (and the power of them). The one curious thing I’m seeing in your video is that in the Component Builder, your Component doesn’t seem to have the black “export” observer style.

Would you mind providing me with login credentials to your site in our “Secure Note” feature on this thread so that I can login and take a look at things personally?

Thanks!

I don’t know if you gets notified with the secure note,
But here it is.

Btw, both WP and theme is a fresh install.

@rbitfoto, I’ve logged in and tried this myself, and after reviewing your video again realized that the changes seemed to propagate in the live preview, but not on the frontend. I did a test as well in your installation, which yielded the same results; however, when I performed a similar test locally across a large set of Components, all changes are being reflected as expected in both the live preview and on the frontend. This may have been related to some of the “Known Issues” pinned at the top of the forum. For now, let’s tentatively consider this “resolved” as it seems to be working on my end and we will know for sure when Beta 2 is released. I will keep an eye on your findings when that time comes.

Thank you!
