Hi there,
I convert my website from X to Pro following your documentation and now absolutely nothing is working. Could you please take a look and tell me what exactly went wrong and how can I set the page the way it was before?

Hello @apneatotalmalta,
Thanks for writing to us.
I checked your site it seems that you have activated the Twenty Twenty-One theme, I would suggest you deactivate the Cornerstone page builder plugin and activate the Pro theme. Please note you don’t need the separate Cornerstone plugin when you are using the Pro theme since the Pro theme has an inbuilt Cornerstone page builder plugin.
Thanks
Hi @prakash_s,
Thanks for the head up about the theme activation. It is weird though because I remember clearly to had it deactivated.
There was a few things that were not working but I managed to fix them. I’m having troubles with the following:
Please, let me know if you would need me to send you more details.
Thanks for your help
Hi @apneatotalmalta,
I have investigated your site and found that there is no Footer is created in Footer Builder and also there is no widget added into the Footer widget area. I would suggest you create a Footer by adding the widgets you want to show and assign it to Entire Site or you can add the widgets to the Footer Widget area to show it through the default footer.
NOTE: The Essential Grid element is showing all the items as shown in the screenshot.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Hi @tristup,
Regarding the footer, I had the one I sent you on the 1st screenshot and it was composed by 3 different widgets that disappeared when I changed to Pro. I thought that maybe you had this same issue in the past and it would be easy for you to recover them but if’s not the case, it is not a big deal and we can make them again.
As I mentioned it on my previous post, you can only see all the Essential Grids if you are logged in our Worpress as I’m sure this was your case Could you please take a look and tell me how could it be fixed?
Thanks!
Hello @apneatotalmalta,
The Pro theme is just an independent theme. Though all the X theme settings will be inherited to the Pro theme options, there are still things that need to be reassigned. One of these are the navigation menus and your widgets. Once the Pro theme is active, you will have to go to Appearance > Widgets and make sure that there are widgets assigned to the Footer 1, Footer 2, Footer 3, etc. area.
One of the reason why your Essential Grid is not working is that it is because of caching. You have installed the WP Rocket and you are using Cloudflare. You need to clear the WP Rocket caches and then log in to the Cloudflare account and purge the site cache to make sure that the latest code from the updates will be loaded and not the old cached files.
This links might help:
Right after your updates, please log in to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache. You also need to regenerate the minified CSS and JS files in CloudFlare.
Best Regards.
Thanks @ruenel for you crystal clear answer!
We have the footer back. They were in the section “inactive widgets”.
I followed all the tutorials/indications and erase manually the cache of WP Rocket, logged into my Cloudflare account purge the site cache, regenerate the files, purge it again, put it into developing mode and still the essential grids are visible when logged in Wordpress only.
Is there any other way to fix it?
Hello @apneatotalmalta,
Yes, I can replicate the issue of not seeing the Essential grid when not logged in. Please go to My Sites > Network Admin > Plugins and temporarily deactivate WP Rocket and the Cloudflare plugin. Log in to your Cloudflare account and put it in Development mode. Open your Firefox or Brave browser and test your site again.
Kindly let us know how it goes.
Hi @ruenel,
When we deactivate the plugins and set Cloudflare in development mode we can see again all the Essential Grids of every single page of the website from any browser on different mobiles and laptops. Once we activate the plugins they are not visible again.
Hello @apneatotalmalta,
It means that the plugins and Cloudflare are not in sync. You need to clear your plugin caches while Cloudflare is still in development mode. if you have more than two caching plugins, you will have to reactivate each of the plugins with an interval of a few hours so that there is time to regenerate the cache. You will only have to disable the Development Mode in Cloudflare after all the plugins are activated.
Best Regards.
Hello @ruenel,
Before start using WP Rocket we had another cache plugin called Autoptimize that was deactivated. Once we activated it, while in development mode in Cloudflare and removed its cache, the essentials grids are visible again. Thanks!
Autoptimize is a plugin that we won’t use anymore since we have now WP Rocket. Autoptimize is activated because of the grids but can we now deactivated and delete Autoptimize from the plugins list and it won’t affect again to our Essential Grids or our page cache?
Hi @apneatotalmalta,
Yes, you can delete the plugin, I would suggest you clear the cache before you deactivate and delete that.
Thanks
Hi @tristup,
We cleared the cache on Autoptimize, deactivated and deleted it and now we have the same issue and none of the Essential Grids are visible again.
Could you please take a look to the widgets? We added the widgets to the footer areas but they are empty now, even if the footer section looks perfect.
Hi @apneatotalmalta,
I have checked your Widget Area and found that the widgets are added into the Footer 1, Footer 2, and Footer 3 area.
Thank
Thanks @tristup!
Did you have time to check what I mentioned about the non visible Essential Grids since I deactivated and deleted Autoptimize?
Hi @apneatotalmalta,
I had checked it before and that time it was showing, but now I checked and it is only showing while you are logged in. It mostly happens due to the Server Level Cache, I would suggest you contact your hosting provider to purge all the server-level cache.
NOTE: I would suggest you check by deactivating the WP Rocket plugin once, after clearing all cache of it.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Hi @tristup,
In the moment we deactivate WP Rocket the Essential Grids are visible again, it should not be a Server Level Cache issue, no?
Hi @tristup,
Not really! This is the same issue I had from last week where @ruenel explained me how to clear caches in WP Rocket/Cloudflare and regenerate the minified CSS and JS files in Cloudflare but nothing worked.
Hi @apneatotalmalta,
It might be that the WP Rocket and Cloudfare cache has not been cleared previously and that is why the issue existed at that time.
Thanks
