Changing Global Header

Hi there - This might be a silly question but I am going to ask it anyway. We are attempting to set our new nav/header live today and I cannot figure out how to update the default header to the new one. Our site was originally set up by a previous employee, so they were able to set it initially, however I cannot figure out how.

So far, I’ve just set it on specific pages because I haven’t been able to track down where to update the default header. All of the googling I have done has led me to Global settings in Cornerstone, but I must be missing something because I don’t see where I can update it there. Happy to provide any other information necessary, but hopefully I am missing something simple that you can point me in the direction of easily. Thank you!

Hey Lori,

Thanks for reaching out!

You must assign your newly created Global Header to the Entire Site using the Header Builder to apply it.

Here is the documentation for more information:

Hope that helps.

Thank you!! I actually had done that, but it didn’t update them for me. When I’m creating a page, I can choose a page template that our old teammate created. They include header and footer - I’m not sure where I would go to edit those. I’m not sure if a different plugin is involved here - but do you know where I would go to update the page template? I have searched every forum post and help article I can find but none have lead me to a solution that worked so far. Thanks in advance!

Hello Lori,

You can log in to the site and open the page on the frontend. You would have to find the “Cornerstone” link in the WP Admin bar just like this:

This can direct you if you want to edit the custom header, footer or the page itself. If you are on an archive page and have used a custom layout, you will see the “Edit Layout” as well.

Best Regards.
