Changing from X to Pro

Hi,

I’m interested in upgrading from X to Pro. I’ve been using X since 2015, long enough that I’ve actually forgotten what stack I’m using!

Much of my website content is behind a bbpress/buddypress login and there is a lot of customised code (my functions.php in my child theme is pretty big). I think my main concern is breaking my website if I change and then spending hours trying to fix all the broken parts.

Am I being rational or is the transition pretty seamless? What are major headaches I should expect to hit if I upgrade my license?

Hey @demonboy,

Since you have customizations in a child theme, you need to convert your X child theme to Pro child theme. You can see the instruction here https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro

After that, nothing will change except that you’ll have the ability Pro offers. But, it would be safer and you’ll have a peace of mind if you have a website backup you can revert to if something would happen.
