Cant save changes in Cornerstone - Aug 2024

Hi

I am using the latest version of the Pro Theme, everything works fine, I can edit pages but the safe button on the top of the page (in cornerstone) doest show up. Instead I see a “Uh oh!” in the middle of the top bar.

I have reinstalled the theme, tried different versions, turned off all the other plugins but the problem is still there.

My website is www.wirtschaftsberater.at, hosted with siteground,

I have checked the forum, but couldnt find anything that solves the problem.

I need urgent help (need to make some legal changes on the website)

It might be due to the improper update of the theme. I would suggest you re-install the Pro by downloading it from your Themeco Account. If that does not help, There might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization
5.Disabling Cache
6.Disabling CDN

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps, please copy your live site to a staging server so we can troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

I have tried everything you told me already - I cant find a solution. As I use siteground as a server I suggest working on the life site is better because there are issues with the stagings sites on siteground with the pro theme. (If you break the site we can recover it from the backup - so no problem) - please try to fix it

The WP login credentials don’t work. Please provide the correct credentials then also provide cPanel or FTP access.

sorry - was a typo - should work now. FTP you can access via plugin on wordpress

Please try upgrading your PHP version to version 8. Your web host can do this for you.

strange - I have checked the account - well log in with the email address instead of the username - that works

I think you need to reach out to your hosting provider. You are getting an issue with the SVG namespaces and from I can our SVG namespaces are fine. So I have a feeling a plugin or something through the hosting provider that is causing this issue. You are also going to need to setup a staging for us if we are to proceed further. Just adding here that now you can save your pages. The only problem now is the icons not showing up.

Thanks for reporting that. Kindly create the staging environment so we can investigate without the risk of breaking your live site. Your web host, Siteground, has a feature to create staging. Please contact your web host support to help you create the staging environment.

Ho can you safe a page when you dont have an icon to click on? can you explain me that?

I have tried to use the shortcut Ctrl+S to safe the page - but the shortcut works only as “safe as” - is there a shortcut to safe the page (when the safe icon is missing)?

Your staging doesn’t have this Icon issue? Is there something setup differently on your live site? It looks like some plugin or script is changing all the Svg namespaces to something invalid https://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace.

You are right - the stating site is working fine - I didnt set up anything different - in fact the staging site was created automatically from the life site . with all the files - I have no idea what the problem could be …
