Can't edit my website in Cornerstone!

Hi there.

I created a post on my blog, using Cornerstone, the 11th December. Since then I updated my Cornerstone version (2.1.7) and X theme version (5.2.5). When I try to edit my post now (tried multiple ways - from the page directly, clicking X and edit / from my dashboard…), now I’m routed on a page where all my blog posts are listed:

Then, I have to search for my blog post and click “edit”.

Then, nothing happens.
Once, the content was shown in the preview, but not editable.

I also tried to reach directly the URL which is behind the “edit” button - nothing happens.
I deactivate all other plugins (except Cornerstone and WPML).
And… I’m just realizing that it’s the same for all my websites pages.

Help please!

Same here, please help as well

and me :frowning: what is happening :frowning:

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! You might just be experiencing PHP memory limit exhaustion. We recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

You can add it before the line

/*That’s all, stop editing! Happy Blo

Also I found some error throwing at the time of page load, Can you please delete all the file of X and cornerstone and re-upload through FTP.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hello,

I made the changes on the wp-config.php file, I deleted and re-uploaded the X and Cornerstone files through FTP too.
It still does not work (only one small change, when I click on “edit” now on next to the page title in the left column, after a while, I have a preview of my page during less than 1 second, then back to cornerstone icon.)

I also tried to re-download X files directly from Envato Market, where I purchased it, and to replace it. Still no changes.

What could we do next?
Thanks,

Lucie

Hello Lucie,

Looks like your host is blocking some js files, that’s why Cornerstone is not loading. Please contact your host and ask them about it. Let us know what they say.

Best regards.

I’m having this same issue with Godaddy. Have you all had any luck with getting this resolved?

Hi There,

Recently there was a issue brought to our attention that one of virus scanners running on servers blocking a Cornerstone dependency file (cs-vendor.js) because it will identified as a virus threat. Due to this issue, Cornerstone will not function correctly.

We have already identified this as a false alarm and reported them to white-list. You can see more information here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/malicious-content-in-cornerstone-code/17853/4?u=mldarshana).

Thanks!

Same here. How to resolve?

Hi @suzanneeassom,

Please see @mldarshana’s response above. We’re requesting your patience while it gets resolved.

Thanks.

I’m trying to have the host check on if the file(s) were flagged. Question: is there a specific PHP version that this plugin needs? (that’s what they’re asking me)

Hi there,

Would you please kindly open up a separate thread? That way we will be focusing on your case and the turn around of the answers will be quicker. Also, it will not have a mixed forum post which other customers might have a hard time for searching.

Our theme and page builder requires the actively supported version of the PHP. You can find the details here:

http://php.net/supported-versions.php

Thank you.

Hello,

Do you have any update regarding this issue? I reached out to to my website host, they said that they ran a malware scan on our website as well as checked error logs and it does not seem like there are any blocks.

They recommend to completely uninstall Cornerstone and reinstall it again.

Do you have any other recommendation or should I just wait?
As many businesses, Christmas break is coming soon, it’s our business peak, and we want our website to be up-to-date for it.

Thank you,
Lucie

Hello Lucie,

I have checked your site again and Cornerstone is broken because your WPML is outdated. Please make sure that the plugin is updated first. Most of the time, out dated theme and plugins will create issues in the site.

Please let us know how it goes.
