Can I create carousel using Cornerstone?

Is there a way to create carousel, like https://gimletmedia.com, using Cornerstone? What element can I use?

Hi @drbatech,

Thanks for writing in. Currently there are no carousel element in cornerstone, the closest element you can use is the classic slider element. You can also try the Slider Revolution plugin which is bundled with the x/pro theme, here’s a guide on how to use it’s carousel option https://www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/carousel-settings/.

I have a related question about classic elements.
My impression is that classic elements are from the previous generation and we are encouraged to use newer non-classic elements.
Is there a non-classic element that does what the classic slider element do?
Is my understanding correct that I can use new elements to do everything that the classic elements do?

Hi loc,

There is no none-classic elements for a carousel, but just to give you context the Classic elements will not get deprecated anytime soon and we support them and it is safe to use them.

In your case, I do suggest that you consider using one of the bundled plugins available for you. You can go to X > Validation and scroll down to find the Revolution Slider plugin.

Alternatively, you can go to the same place and install the Layer Slider which is another good plugin when it comes to the sliders.

Thank you all for the feedback. However, I have to say I do hope carrousel and slider are part of the standard elements since it’s something been used very often.
I’m trying to build the carousel now, but am struggled to learn how to use the Revolution Slider plugin. It looks so complicated. I feel like I’m learning a full-featured app like Photoshop… :disappointed:
