I’m having some trouble with the buttons on my site. They look correct in the editor, but in the live page the changes are not taking effect. For example, the back ground color is a problem because I set one color in the editor, but the live page remains the same. I don’t have this issue with text or any other added graphic in the page - Only the button. It happens on a couple other pages too. Can you assist?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in!
I would like to check but I am getting this.

Do you have any cache plugin installed?
Try to clear your plugin cache and check again.
Thanks
Sorry… forgot to turn off two step verification. It is off now. Can you try again?
Hi Mary,
This was the issue:
You seems to accidentally removed the commenting (/* */) markup of that paragraph, it become part of the CSS and mess things up. I commented it back and your button looks fine now.
That is your Footer CSS area.
Cheers!
Thank you! That has fixed the problem there… I have a similar problem on another page as well. I did look for the info, but didn’t see the same text in the footer.
Hi Mary,
Would you mind to clarify the issue on that page? I can edit those buttons at will (see screenshot).
Thanks,

Hi Mary,
Sorry, I tried but I could not find that “LOS HECHOS” button, I always get the 2 buttons “Get the Facts” and “Take the Pledge” in both Spanish and English, would you mind providing us step how we can see that button “LOS HECHOS”?
I already check your header and footer and content, element per element but I don’t see any unusual in them.
Thanks,
Yes… the Los Hechos button is located on https://teamsosarizona.com/es/ Or it should be there, but for some reason again the changes to the button are not reflecting properly. There is a toggle just under the header on the right side that goes back and forth from English to Spanish. On the editor view, the upper right toggle does not function, but there becomes a toggle in the bottom right corner of X to edit the english vs. Spanish urls.
To whomever replies, please reference the entire thread. Thank you!
Hi @adminsosaz,
In the builder, it’s the same page being displayed in edited regardless of the language you switch to. So you’re basically editing the English page and not the Spanish.
And it’s because of this setting in your setting in your WPML > Languages.

I went ahead and deactivated it and now, but no luck. I checked the cookie information being sent to the server and it still EN ( _icl_current_language=en ) even if the active language is Spanish. And this isn’t happening on my installation. Could you try re-installing your WPML and Builder and test it again?
Thanks!
If I uninstall, won’t I lose all the custom translation and have to rebuild it? I’m not sure what you mean by builder. Can you explain?
Hi There,
If you deactivate and delete the WPML plugin, all your custom translation will be gone.
I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any theme updates in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:
In your staging area, we can disable all the 3rd party plugins, reinstall the WPML plugin and we can test your website.
Thank you.
Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, whatever this problem is, it is new. The site has been up for almost a year and I’ve had no trouble whatsoever until the last week or two. I can’t imagine it is a plug in issue, because I’m using it on more than one site each with multiple pages and buttons and this particular button/section is the only one with an issue. Is there no other possible option for what might be causing the problem other than this?
Hi,
We need to do a series of test so we can narrow down what is causing the issue.
As suggested by my colleague, please create a staging site. This will allow us to test and debug without disrupting your live site.
You can try this third party plugin in creating your staging site.
Thanks
Ok. The test site is created! Thanks for the clear instructions! That part was easier than I thought. I know the countdown clock seemed to cause an issue with the WPML plugin, but even when removed, I now am not able to populate the Esp page at all. I’m going to disable that plugin for the moment.
Hey Mary,
There might be other conflicting scripts as well. Please try removing scripts like the Facebook Pixel code also just to be sure they aren’t causing the issue. Also give us WordPress Admin access to your staging site.
Thanks.
The staging site logins are the same as the site. They are listed above. I deactivated the pixel plugin.
Hi Mary,
Please provide us the url of your staging site.
I tried https://teamsosarizona.com/stage or https://teamsosarizona.com/staging but none is working
Thanks
