Buttons not behaving!

See below. THanks

Hi @adminsosaz,

Thanks, I checked and it’s completely not working due to permalinks and URLs. I recommend an actual clone of your site as staging, a separate installation instead of just using staging plugin as it remains on the same installation.

Please check this https://wpshout.com/quick-guides/all-in-one-wp-migration/, please use the all in one migration plugin to migrate a copy of your site to another installation.

Then let us know.

Thanks!

I haven’t done this part before. So what you’re saying is to create a complete duplicate of the site with a separate url. Is that correct?

Yes. Please get back to us when you’re done.

Thanks.

Here you go:

Hey @adminsosaz,

I logged in to your staging site and tested your home page English version and I’ve changed the background of the button successfully.

I then switched to the Spanish version and found that it’s empty but I continued on testing my adding a button. When I saved, the success notification popped up. But, the front-end is still empty and going back to the editor, I reloaded it and the Spanish page was actually wasn’t saved.

I then deactivated all third party plugin except WPML and repeated the test process. At first, the result was the same but upon second reload, the Spanish page was filled with English content ready to be translated. I was then able to change the button background too (see secure note of my screencast of this part of the troubleshooting).

I’m not sure what fixed the issue yet. Maybe one of the third party plugins caused this. Would you mind activating each plugin in your test site then repeat what I have done after each activation?

Thanks.

I went into the actual site and the home page content in Spanish isn’t loading at all. I can only see the header and footer. I tried editing some of the content on the English side to see if this would re-populate the page and it doesn’t seem to be.

I saved the template on the english home page and tried to upload it to the Spanish homepage, but all that shows on the Spanish site is countdown clock which is embedded raw code. (Which was not what I saw in the editor. It looked correct there.) It seems like there might be a conflict between WPML and and this raw code? Something on the live site seems damaged. This doesn’t seem to be taking place on the test site. I deactivated plugins, but there was no change. What should I try next?

Hi @adminsosaz,

It’s only specific to your site since it’s okay on your test site. Perhaps something on your live site is active? Like the cache, database optimization, mem cache and so on. I logged in and I see it having an SG Cache (SiteGround).

Is there a way you can disable the cache on the live site? You may contact your hosting as well to see if it’s possible. Else, I would recommend testing it on the different host without any active cache. Not moving but just for testing.

Thanks!
