Builder freezes on typing too fast in element search field

I thought I bring this up here in the forum, in case this is still an issue. This is on 4.3.3. When I type into the search field within the element window (the one which allows to narrow down the elements that are displayed to be added to the design), I have to wait briefly after the first letter. The cursor starts blinking again. If I try to type the second letter too quickly, it will freeze the whole browser window. Will have to re-load the browser window again. This doesn’t happen each and every time, but often enough to be very annoying. My gut feeling is that it happens the first time one is searching the element window after openening the page for editing. Whenever it happens, one will loose all the edits one has done before.
Anyway, just a heads-up.

Hi @striata,

Thanks for checking in again on this. Yes, it’s still on our radar - there’s some kind of infinite loop going on that crashes the browser tab. Unfortunately, it’s not something we’ve been able to track down easily and due to numerous incremental changes to the element library it’s at a point where it’s going to be better if we rewrite how all that data gets loaded. It’s not something we’ve looked into for this release cycle.

This is still happening fairly often for me in the beta / rc releases.

I was able to get an adjustment to prevent searching from happening until the builder is fully loaded. This stops the infinite loop but you still can’t quickly search during the loading process. It’s a decent workaround until we can come back to the issue properly.
