Broken theme version 7 to version 8

Hello,

I’ve been looking for solutions for hours (7 hours). I updated the theme to version 8, and my HTML has totally changed. The site was built with wpBakery. See the images of the HTML code, they speak for themselves.

Version 7.1.0
new user cant post image…
It was a screen shot showing the HTML content made by theme x (example: x-container)

Version 8.3.3
new user cant post image…
It was a screen shot showing the HTML content made by the wpBakery (Example: wc_row)

We can see that it is wpBakery that is there for version 8.
A preview of the page edition

Version 7.1.0
I can’t describe it without a picture…

Version 8.3.3
I can’t describe it without a picture…

I have tried many things and I don’t know what to tell you (tired), like this for example X Theme v8 Major Issues

But nothing works.
Do you have a solution ?

Thanks a lot

Hi @hebertcom,

Thank you for writing in, first please make sure everything is up to date, WordPress, X, Cornerstone, Visual Compose, and all other plugins.

Refer here for the latest compatible versions

How to update

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

If nothing works, please provide us login credentials in a “Secure Note” so we can take a closer look.

Cheers!

Thank you @friech,

I have added a secure note for you.

Thank you!

Hi @hebertcom,

I have checked and found that the WP Bakery plugin has been installed already. But that is not showing in the plugins list. There might be some different reasons behind your issue, I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue
5.CSS/JS Customization

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hello, first sorry for my English, I use an online translator. (If you can answer me in French, it would be perfect).

“I have checked and found that the WP Bakery plugin has been installed already. But that is not showing in the plugins list. There might be some different reasons behind your issue, I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.”

wpBakery is present. Only it is translated by Wordpress into French. This is the last plugin, called “Éditeur de page” is wpBakery.

For :

  • 1.Theme Related Issue
I have installed a basic WordPress theme, but it doesn’t help. My problem is that the HTML is not the same as theme X when I install theme X. I also tried to activate the parent theme X (without going through the child theme) which is new, leaving all plugins disabled. And the problem persists.

  • 2.plugin conflict
I had already done this test, the problem persists.

  • 3.theme update related issue
I have already followed these steps

  • 4.child theme related issue
As explained above, I have already done this test. The problem persists.

  • 5.CSS/JS Customization
As explained above, by activating the parent X theme (original and up to date). the problem persists. This new theme is not linked to any custom JS or CSS code. So I consider this point N. 5 is done.

I give you back the login details. Thank you very much.

Hi @hebertcom,

I have checked your staging or development site and found that I am able to add the images into the Media, able to add the *Post and also able to create the page using the Cornerstone.

I have also created the page using the WP Bakery and it also successfully worked, what I found during this that the Visual Composer Clipboard plugin is broke the design of the available options while adding or editing the page.

Modifier la page

Created the page using the Cornerstone:

If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that help us to recognize the problem.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

Thank you for your time, but I think you misunderstood my initial request.

Please look again at my main post with my screenshots of the generated html code, before and after the theme update.

WpBakery works, that’s not the problem. It’s that the site is broken because the generated HTML is not at all the same as before. And I don’t know how to solve this problem without redoing the whole site.

Hello @hebertcom,

After updating the X theme to version 8.3.3 and Cornerstone 5.3.3, make sure that everything is up to date as well. And also I found out that you are using CloudFlare. Right after your updates, please log in to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache. You also need to regenerate the minified CSS and JS files in CloudFlare.

And by the way, please go to WPBakery Page Builder > General Settings and enable the “Legacy X Integration”.

Best Regards.
