Hi, I’m starting out to build my blog posts, and if I enter the content using Cornerstone, i see that i’m not able to edit it with the word press editor, and i loose it if i switch to the word press editor (visual/text). I’m concerned what would happen if at some point I change the theme, and end up loosing all my content. What do you recommend as a best practice so that my content remains intact in case of a theme change or if i decide in the future to use Gutenberg?
Thank you!
Hi There,
Thanks for writing in! If you’re using Cornerstone to create pages or posts, you will always require Cornerstone plugin to render the content properly. Also if you edit Cornerstone content outside, using a different editor, there’s a chance to lose your content as well.
However if you’re using both WordPress editor and Cornerstone editor to create content, when you click on the Edit link of a particular post,

It will prompt to the correct edit mode.

With regard to your other concern, please review the following thread (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/gutenberg-x-pro/29144).
Thanks!
Thank you!!
You’re welcome!
Hi, I have a follow up question. Is it possible for me have X theme and have a few pages built with Cornerstone, and in addition have posts created with Beaver Builder? Thanks!
Hello @flavorcity1,
Thanks for asking.
I just installed Beaver Builder on my local setup and tried to edit few pages using the same. At times it was giving some issues but it works, there might be some compatibility issues on my local setup. However, please don’t consider this as a official Themeco advice. We can confirm that Cornerstone work fine along side Visual Composer. But it’s difficult to comment on other page builder tools.
What I would suggest you is install the free version of Beaver Builder on a dev server and test it out to see how it goes. You can download the free plugin from WordPress.org plugin repository.
Thanks.
Thanks, appreciate the feedback!
