Blog Images on Website

I was wondering how I can make my blog images bigger on my website… or how to center them to look even. If you take a look at the attached image this is how my images currently look on my website.

Hello Sasan,

Thanks for writing in!

You are referring to the featured images in the recent posts element. Please be advised that this element is using a cropped image added as a background image to the designated image area. To center and display the whole image, please add the following CSS code in the X > Theme Options > Global CSS (http://prntscr.com/evui3r)

.x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-img {
    background-size: contain;
}

Please let us know if this works out for you.

I wouldnt want the actual size… just for the image to fit. And I tried the code in the theme options and nothing happened to the image.

Hi Sasan,

I am not certain what do you mean to have the image fit because the images in the recent posts already fits in their container.

For example, the post ‘Tips to prepare your skin…’, the image used is the cropped version of the original image which is this:

which shows on the recent post element as RueNel mentioned that the images served in the recent post element are the cropped version of the image.

If you want the full image, Please install and activate the child theme and login through FTP then edit the functions.php then add this code:

function x_shortcode_recent_posts_v2( $atts ) {
  extract( shortcode_atts( array(
    'id'           => '',
    'class'        => '',
    'style'        => '',
    'type'         => 'post',
    'count'        => '',
    'category'     => '',
    'offset'       => '',
    'orientation'  => '',
    // 'show_excerpt' => 'true',
    'no_sticky'    => '',

               . '</a>';

    }

  $output .= '</div>';

  return $output;
}

  add_filter('wp_head', 'x_recent_posts_excerpt');

  function x_recent_posts_excerpt() {
    remove_shortcode( 'x_recent_posts' );
    remove_shortcode( 'recent_posts' );
    add_shortcode( 'x_recent_posts', 'x_shortcode_recent_posts_v2' );
    add_shortcode( 'recent_posts', 'x_shortcode_recent_posts_v2' );
  }

then add this code in X > Theme Options > CSS:

.x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-img {
    background-size: contain !important;
}

If the CSS code does not work, please copy all the codes that are in the Global CSS and paste it here.

It should provide some information if there are any CSS error that is causing the issue that you have to fix so that the CSS codes will work.

Hope this helps.
