Beta 8: Posts/Query Builder only shows 6 posts

Hey,

I am working on a page and wanted to display all posts of a custom post type and a custom taxonomy. Everything worked fine but somehow it always just shows 6 posts.

Here me settings:

Bildschirmfoto 2020-11-27 um 09.23.54

Also when i change count to another number (for example 10 it shows maximum 6 posts - but when i enter 4 it shows 4).

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Also there is another problem:
When I save a page in Pro the page published date changes to the current date/time. The problem is that i made a layout with conditions that all pages published after date x should use this template (which is a great function). But it does not make sense when Pro changes the published date every time a make changes and save them.

Best regards

Patrick

Hi @confidero,

Thanks for reaching out, and for sharing the login details. I checked your site and you had the Looper Consumer set to 6. In most cases you want to leave this as All. It’s used to change this if you want to have a few posts that are styled differently. For example you could have your Provider on a Section, then consume 1 post in the first row to style that completely differently. Then you could have consume the rest (set consumer to All).

The Looper Provider determines how many posts to retrieve from the Database, and the Looper Consumer determines how many of those posts you want to design using the current element.

Thank you! Really glad you caught this! Fixed for the next patch.

Hey,

i have to bring up this topic again

I have another site (layout) where i think i set up every thing right - loop consumer is set to ALL but it only shows 10 of 19 posts.

Screenshots:

Loop Provider:

Loop Consumer:

Maybe this is a small bug or it set something wrong.

Check the default number of posts in the customiser, as all doesn’t mean all… it means all of the ones wordpress is set to look for

Ahh, yes thats the solution! thabk you very much @scotbaston

My pleasure!

Thanks @scotbaston for chiming in with a quick answer here!

@confidero glad you’ve got it all sorted out! Having the default use the WordPress setting is a bit of a safety net for performance because when the Provider is setup it actually loads all those posts even if you consume them or not.

I can see how “All” is confusing here. Would “Max” maybe be a better label? Just an idea.

That’s a good point, I can see how that might be better. We’re going to stick with “All” for now since we’ve done several videos that touch on this subject and want to keep continuity.

I don’t find the setting there, I find it in Settings > Blog pages show at most [10] posts.

Thanks for pointing me in a direction to look, this solved the looper consumer problem I had, thought I’d mention it for others finding this post.

Thanks @Futurised1! Glad you found it.
