Beta 8 - Layout Builder - Template Used for Blog Posts - Buggy Section / Element Selections with Mouse click

Hey Team

Have used a template for Blog Posts in the new Layout Builder, and for some reason the top Section (renamed Section Top) I’m unable to select the sections/rows/columns/elements within it with my mouse by hovering over etc.

But the bottom section is working totally fine? Can hover and click on elements etc.

Difficult to show with a screenshot, but the below is the general screen I’m looking at for possible replication:

Have tried saving, and reopening a new tab in the Layout Builder to no avail.

Cheers,
Sam

Hey Sam,

Would it be possible to login to your site to check this one out? I’ve tried reproducing this and haven’t been able to. Thanks!

Hey @alexander

Yep, no probs - see secure note. I have been playing around with the headers, so unsure if you’ll be able to replicate, but check nonetheless.

Cheers,
Sam

Update: just checked then, still an issue at my end with the “Blog Post Blocked” layout.
Update Two: I think it’s something to do with the Section z-index being set to -1. When I change it to 0, I can select elements etc.

Thanks! I checked it out and looks like a conflict with the WooCommerce Smart Coupons plugin. I think it’s not compatible with the latest version of jQuery that WordPress is outputting. Might just need to update that one.

I think it’s something to do with the Section z-index being set to -1. When I change it to 0, I can select elements etc.

This one is actually intentional. When something has a negative z-index it can actually become unclickable because it’s pushed behind other elements. We disable the dropzone anytime negative z-index is used to prevent being unable to drag/drop from those areas.
