Beta 7 - Text Turns Transparent

In the following video, when I select the predefined text color, the text color will be transparent when viewed in the preview. When I select the color manually, the text color appears correct. It seems to only be affected by the single predefined color. The other predefined colors are ok.

Update while looking at this further:
I had two template colors named the same name, such as two colors named “Brand Color 4”. Once I changed one of the colors to “Brand Color 8”, the problem disappeared.

Thanks for sharing this. I just wanted to confirm that I’ve been able to see your video. I’ve not confirmed the issue yet but we will definitely take a closer look.

Update: I’m not able to reproduce this, however I do understand how it could be possible if you started with colors from an older version of X. The color names used to be linked to their IDs causing naming conflicts. Now they are fully unique. If you run into this again, try deleting the color and adding it back to fix the issue.

@alexander The solution you mention might work on a small site with 10 pages, but what if you’ve got 25 sites with 300 pages each. There may be 1000’s of elements using a single color choice. So, deleting the color and adding it back would incur 1000’s of manual edits.

Is there a site you’re experiencing this with? I wasn’t actually able to reproduce it. If you’re having this issue, you could try what OP did and rename the color first. The older versions I mentioned had UI rules that prevented naming it the same. New versions allow the same title, but create a unique ID.

Quick update: I audited this entire process and did uncover an issue where some duplicated colors were not getting an ID at all. This has been addressed for the official release. While there may still be some issues with colors created after updating to a beta, I don’t anticipate problems for production sites going from one major version to the next.
