I’m trying to use the eye-dropper to pick a colour from the page being edited - it doesn’t do anything for me.
I’m on Ventura beta (latest) in Safari.

Howdy, @bill_hodgson! I believe the eyedropper API is only available in Chrome and Edge at the moment. I will make a note of this and ensure that the button is hidden altogether when not available across different browsers.
Is it specifically included in Chrome and Edge or is it part of the Chromium engine? The eye dropper doesn’t do anything in Opera either, which is a Chromium browser.
This should all be addressed in the next beta and only show up in supported browsers.

@JvP…the eyedropper is not showing for me in Opera on the current build we have going. You shouldn’t see it anymore once Beta 3 goes out, and it will only show in browsers that allow it. Cheers!

Just to confirm, @JvP…if it’s showing for you, is it functional? We have checks in place which should completely hide the eyedropper if that API is not supported in the browser you’re using. If you’re seeing it, it should be because it’s functional.
It’s not functional in Opera despite the button showing there. I checked Brave as well and it works in that browser. In Firefox the button is hidden.
@JvP, after testing this further, we discovered that for some reason even though the API is “in” Opera, the eyedropper tool is hidden in version 91 of Opera on an arm64 Mac, but is shown on an x86_64 Mac, but doesn’t work. We definitely have the feature detection scoped in properly. At this time, there appears to be an issue with Opera on this. We will likely just UA sniff for Opera and hide it altogether there, as we have nothing to go off of at this time as to why this is so wildly inconsistent in Opera alone.
