Beta 5: Filters

This is jumping ahead, but how would we add filters to a page similar to eBay and other sites to drill down using product attributes?

And I await the ability to define the scope for a Woo query in the Looper provider using taxonomies, I can then replicate the home page of my client by building Loopers inside a tab element to display ‘best sellers’, ‘new arrivals’ and ‘special offers’ by mapping products into those categories, or making queries.

Hey Bill,

There’s a “Shop Sort” element that just drops in the native WC sorting markup, but we don’t have any elements setup right now to give parity to the WC widgets. If you setup a widget area with some of the WC widgets like “Filter products by Attribute” you can insert a widget area element somewhere in your layout.

We’ve got somewhat of a list going on places we can further enrich the WC experience, so it’s something we want to get back to, but similar to the Add to Cart Form element (mentioned) on the other thread, we’re hesitant to jump into that because of the potential for having to redo things or create conflicts down the road with new theme options.

I’m wondering what to say, but maybe DANG! again.

I live in a village called Wootton Courtenay, so each time you write WC I get confused.

I’m choosing different stacks in Theme options and not seeing any difference on the front end BTW.

Haha sorry about the abbreviation confusion. We even have to use that in Pro in a few places to get it to fit.

Not following what you mean with the stack styles. What are you trying to change?

Switching stacks - let it go - I may not be looking hard enough. I expected the red buttons to change somehow, but I guess they are red in the Theme Options regardless of which Stack I pick. Bill.

Oh I see. Under Theme Options there’s a Buttons section to set those. All of those options were from the very beginning of X. As a theme, we started with a more opinionated approach that let you quickly get off the ground with 4 different designs different features and customization options for each. Over the years, the building capabilities have been improved, but we haven’t added much in terms of new options there. This is going to be the focus of Pro 5.0.
