Beta 4: Launch Pro leads to Unexpected Page

Hi!

Before I dive into the new great stuff, I am seeing something wired. When on the front end, we sometimes need to quickly access Theme Options, Templates, Global Blocks, etc. Those shortcuts are gone. I thought they will be back as Beta progresses.

So the next best thing would be to click “Launch Pro”, expecting to see some kind of a dashboard that leads to all the Theme areas. In my case, I was on the Homepage and clicking this button opened editing the “About us” page, which is a random, unexpected event.

I would like to see direct links to key areas back, and I think “Launch Pro” should at least edit the active page, but that is not what users would expect because there is the “Edit Page” bellow it. “Launch Pro” should lead to a dashboard with all the options. It would also probably load faster than the need to wait for the page to render. Pro is loading fast, but if such “middleman” is needed to get to other areas, it is not fast enough.

Hi @Misho,

I see what you mean. At the moment, “Launch Pro” takes you back to the last thing you were doing when the application was open. If that was disabled, we do have a dashboard screen we could use. We’ll take some time to think about this some more before an official release.

I have just realized that, after trying to get to the Theme Options page (the one from the Hamburger), I have landed on it, but with the empty sidebar.

After, that, “Launch Pro” started to lead to the Theme Options page. (Still with the empty sidebar).

Thanks Misho, I’ve been able to reproduce something similar a couple times. It’s some kind of race condition that causes the workspace to not load correctly. Similar to what’s mentioned over here: Beta 4: Theme options
