I’ve clicked to open a modal side panel, the black panel with the pixel dimensions obscures the Close X in the top right and whilst editing a page I can’t close the modal.

Thanks Bill! Got this sorted out for the next patch. It should only show that UI when (1) you are dragging to resize the preview area or (2) you have activated a specific breakpoint size from the bar. For the latter, in most cases the UI will be appearing outside the actual preview frame. To avoid it altogether you can move your bar to the top of the screen and you’ll see the width/scale all the time in a way that doesn’t cover the preview.
