Beta 2: multiple fonts issues

Hi!

I have uploaded the Beta 2 to the staging site of a website that is still under construction. There are a few issues going on with the Headings.

  • Wrong font loaded
  • Strange character appearing
  • Order of heading elements inside a Div is wrong.

I’ll link the staging and the testing copy of the staging site to compare them visually, in the private note.

Thanks!

Thanks! We’ll take a closer look at this. It seems like the font is getting set to inherit instead of outputting the actual font assigned.

Just to add that I’m having the wrong fonts on headlines and navigations if you need another example

Thanks @scotbaston! I think I’ve got enough to go on here but I’ll let you know.

@Misho and @scotbaston ,

We’re going to push beta 3 shortly. If you don’t mind, give that a try when you’ve got a moment.

@Misho, I’m sorry, I missed this the first time around:

  • Order of heading elements inside a Div is wrong.

Could you let me know which element that is happening with? Thank you!

Shall do… but first sleep

Thanks! No rush at all, just wanted to keep you updated. Rest well!

Hi @alexander!

I have just installed Beta 3. Not sure if you were addressing the font issue already, but it is not solved yet. You can check out the staging site with the same credentials.

The issue is inside the DIV element that is holding two headings in the first section.

With regards of the order of the elements, two headings are supposed to be one below the other, but they are appearing one next to the other.

Also, this strange element is appearing in the heading:

Thanks!

Likewise, I’m on Beta 3 and Headline fonts are not displaying correctly for me. I even rebuilt the staging site prior to loading Beta 3 so as to get a clean install of the beta over the live version of the theme

it looks like the $el is overriding the font settings, even though there is nothing in the customize CSS for the headline. see video below

@Misho,

Thank you! Crazy little bug. It was a CSS class collision. The IDs for Element CSS were too similar to the ones for element styles. The Div on your page was getting 80px for height and width as well as a box shadow which was causing the formatting issues.

This is fixed for the next patch. If you want to quickly patch it yourself, find this file: cornerstone/includes/classes/Tss/Reducers/ModuleReducer.php and on line 13 you’ll see:

$prefix = 'e'

I’m changing that e to m moving forward which will resolve this problem.

Standby on font issue. Thanks @scotbaston for the extra info there as well.

Update: Font issue resolved as well.

@alexander, that’s great!

I have now noticed one more subtle difference between the staging and the new sites. Staging has Beta on, it and if you scroll down on the homepage, there are dynamic testimonials. Beta has top/bottom borders on the Testimonial elements, while the original doesn’t have them.

Also, if you edit the Homepage, the appearance of the repeated posts in the looper is different than the first, editable item, plus the rating starts are not showing. Which may be related to the font issue.

Thanks!

Gotcha, yeah that is most likely more class name collisions where styling from different elements are being applied in the wrong cases. There’s also an unresolved issue where looper styling in the preview is broken.

Hi @alexander

The font issue is now fixed!

But now there are many new issues, possibly caused by a same problem.

I have created a Video with a button that is supposed to look like this on the front end:

After updating to RC1, it now looks like this:

Also, when I edit the Homepage in Cornerstone, it is all messed up.

Also, inside Cornerstone, the interactions on the CSS Grid on the Homepage are partly working.

Also, paddings on the green section are larger, plus the Quote element still has the borders:

Staging with RC:

It seems like both Element CSS and Effects are not working.

Thanks!

If you need to install patches to the staging server, there is no problem. The other subdomain is a reference point for how the original should look like.

Thanks @Misho,

I have a feeling it’s related to this: In editor picture positions are not being displayed according to applied CSS

I’m going to get RC2 out today. If you don’t mind checking again, let me know how that looks once it’s pushed out.

Hi @alexander!

Most of the issues are gone!

One thing that is left on this particular homepage are the rating stars and fonts inside the Looper, when in Cornerstone. Also the position of the quote is wrong. Basically the Testimonial element is un-styled.

Here is an original, with a looped one showing on the side:

Thanks!

Thank you! Fixed. We had that fixed in RC1, then it regressed when I fixed something else with Global Blocks. All good now.

Hi @alexander!

After installing RC3, headlines lost their color on the front-end, and background images have disappeared in the backend.

Thanks!

This is probably similar to the issues I mentioned also.

Thanks, I’m sorry about that - I broke global colors and background layers last night while fixing something with loopers/dynamic content. Fixed for the release.
