Beta 2: Append "Home" to the Homepage in the Documents list

Unlike with other pages, I usually have no clue what the title of my Homepage is. Finding it quickly is pretty difficult.

If “Home” could be appended to it automatically in the Documents list, it would show up when searching home. That would help a lot!

In addition, the pages are not sorted alphabetically, and also they seem not to be sorted by date or any obvious logic? It would be great if some order was present in page sorting in the Documents list.

@Misho, good stuff here. I think what we will do is pull through the WordPress nomenclature here on the “Home” page. For example, in the WP admin when you have assigned your Home and Posts pages, you see this in the pages table:

So bringing in that " — Front Page" for the homepage and " — Posts Page" for your blog will keep things consistent everywhere.

As for the sorting, I agree that alphabetizing them is the cleanest way to output this content. I have a note for this but we just hadn’t gotten to it yet, but we will make sure that’s in before the next release.

Thanks!

This would be a very helpful addition!

I’m curious if this would pick up similar suffix words from custom plugins, for example “— Legal Document” from Complianz?

@arthurodb, we will look into seeing what we can do to potentially pick those things up automatically. Not 100% sure on that at the moment, but at least the front page label is in for the next release cycle!

Hi @kory, I see this found its way into Beta 3. Fantastic!

It would be great if it could appear in search when searching for the Front page.

Thanks!

Noted. Thanks!
