Best way to add Google Analytics these days in X classic?

Hi there,
I’m trying to add GA to my X Classic site so I added the GA plugin bundled with X. I entered the GA ID and am unable to verify the site. Then I added the tracking code to the “Meta Tag (optional)” box and that doesn’t do the trick either. I can’t verify the site. Any suggestions?

Running latest version of everything for https://newskywebsites.com

Thanks for writing in!

In Google Analytics plugin you just need to add the Google Analytics ID. Please don’t add anything in meta tag box. I checked the website and can see that you have added Google Analytics. Can you please confirm?
