Best Way to Accomplish Photo Guide

Hello,

We are looking for the best solution in creating a 2 column layout. Here is an example of what we are looking to accomplish.

Page: Concert Photos
Sections from A-Z (26 Sections)
About 10-15 rows in each section
2 Columns per row - LEFT: Photo, RIGHT: Details.

We have created a page with just the photos now (https://indie-e4th.com/concert-posters/)
and also a DEV PAGE showing what we would like to accomplish (https://indie-e4th.com/photo-test-2/)

PROBLEM:

We are seeing on the /concert-photos page that it is responding SLOW when trying to duplicate rows and edit content. We assume this is because of the amount of content on the page.

QUESTION:

Is there a better way to accomplish what we are trying to do as seen from the examples besides using PRO/Cornerstone?

Any feedback is welcomed.

Thank you.

Hello Del,

Thanks for writing in!

It is best that you create a custom post type or use the Portfolio feature to display each of the concert photos. You can then categorize each of the portfolio items alphabetically.

Best Regards.

Ruenel, is there a way to help with the lag in Cornerstone/PRO where there is a lot of content on the page? WIth all of the content as you can see, it makes it difficult to be able to edit anything as there is a major lag

Hello Del,

If you have several photos on a page, the page will have a huge file size and it will take some time to load the page or those images. And yes, it will create issues when being loaded in the builder. We highly recommend that you only have at least 10 images or less on a page to load it faster.

By utilizing another approach like using the custom post types, you can create a custom layout, set a number of photos to load, and then use pagination to load to the next batch of images.

Best Regards
