Backgrounds not supporting responsive controls?

Hi!

I was 100% sure that background controls would support responsiveness, but I have now tested that just in case and found they are not?

Switching background images between desktop and mobile is one of the most important tasks. I was very surprised that this would still rely on our custom CSS. Or this is something you guys are still working on? Or hopefully I am just missing something.

The base background color can be changed, but not the layers. The current implementation of our Advanced Backgrounds relies on adding inline CSS on those divs. That said, we’re going to revisit backgrounds in general as early as our next release. Ideally those layers would be done in the generated CSS allowing them to change with responsive styling. That’s also when we’d be exploring a gradient generator to populate the image fields. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be in this update, but it’s a near term priority for us.

This isn’t set in stone, but our thought is after Responsive Styling we’ll do a Pro 5.1 update with layered backgrounds, layered shadows, a slider element, and some other isolated features before delving fully into the Theme Options reboot.

Hey @alexander,

You’ve mentioned that the base background can be changed but unfortunately I’m not being able to do this:

I can do it via the dev tools though.

Hey @Maratopia_Digital,

I’m sorry, I just realized it only works on the Div in beta2. We have it working everywhere now but didn’t get those changes merged before bundling the beta last week.
