B7: minor bug - select presets menu

The preset selection menu for elements retains the last selected preset when selecting different elements. This might be fine if switching from one Text element to another, for example, but I have found that it is possible to select a preset on, say, a Section / Row element, then switch to a Text element and apply. It does it’s best to apply that Section preset to the Text, which obviously doesn’t work so well.

It was able to apply some styles when selecting a preset on a Headline element, then switching to a Text element and hitting apply.

A bit confusing when setting and applying many presets! Especially if limited access is being given to a lower-level content editor, with instructions to only use presets etc - and this would result in potential errors and problems with design unintentionally.

Thank you! Nice find. This is fixed for the next patch. It’s going to reset the state entirely when you move to a new element. I think this feels the best even over staying on elements of the same type because the visual feedback helps you know you’ve moved to a new element.

That’s great. Thanks for the update also.

I also have a feature request / suggestion for the presets saver.

Currently if you want to override a preset for an element, you have to get the name exactly right and then it offers to override it. This is fine in many cases, but with slightly complex naming structures and consideration of capitalisation, there’s many times I’ve slightly mis-remembered the preset name and ended up with a very minorly different named preset in my list. I wonder if there could be an auto-complete to the Save Preset field that shows you the other presets that have already been made?

A minor thing, but perhaps a nice to have!

Cheers

Thanks! I’ll add it to some notes we have about changes to the applying/saving presets control. It’s something that we’ve considered refreshing but didn’t get into with this release.
