Author Archive Preview Showing Home Page

This is an issue I’ve been fighting for several months now. Hopefully, it’s my error.

When I create an archive layout for showing posts by author in Pro, the preview only shows the home page.

I’ve set the condition of the layout to Any Author --> Is being viewed.

I then set the preview to Author and then I select an author on the site.

The preview still is only showing me the home page.

When I go to the author layout on the front end, it shows the author layout.

There must be something I’m missing here, right? Can you point me in the right direction?

Unfortunately, the given credentials are not working. Can you please check and send it once again?

NOTE: The issue you are facing mostly happens if the Post Page is not set from Settings > Reading. Please set and check if that works for you. If not, please reshare the credentials.

Thank you for the help! You are correct that I didn’t have a a posts page selected on the settings–>reading page. So, I went and created a page called All Posts (slug:all) and selected it on the settings–>reading page. When I went into Cornerstone, though, all of the archive layouts, single layouts, and components that I set up didn’t show up in the All Documents Pane. It’s really weird.

As for your login, I see that I wrote a typo when I put in your username. I’ll send a new secure note with the correct username.

I should add that though I couldn’t get to the author archive layout from the All Documents pane, I did have that layout open when I refreshed the page. With the posts page set in the settings–>reading page, I am able to see and edit the author layout. thank you very much for that. Now, if we can get it so the layouts and components show up in the All Documents pane again, I’ll be cooking with gas.

You are using Pro 6.4.18. Please make sure to use the latest version of the theme. The latest release is Pro 6.5.3 version.

I have updated to version 6.5.3 and have followed the instructions to clear the system cache. I’ve also cleared all of my server’s cache, which includes the CDN. The issue on the backend remains. It’s only showing me the front page, the active head, and the active footer in the Cornerstone All Documents pane. All of the other layouts are not showing up.

The front end appears to be working fine.

Hey @gavn8r,

Do you have any custom PHP codes in your child theme? I could not check it because I did not have any access to it. Would it be possible for you to switch to the parent Pro theme? While at it, test for any plugin conflict as well as other common issues.

I do have some custom functions in the child theme. I’ve activated the parent theme. It’s still having the same issue. I’ll keep it on the parent them so you have a chance to look.

Hi @gavn8r,

I have checked and found the problem you are having after activating the Post page. I would suggest you troubleshoot the Plugin Conflict issue once by deactivating all the plugins one by one. If that does not help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we can troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Hey team. This is part of a multisite installation that has hundreds of thousands of posts over the sites. It’s just not simple to copy over one of the sites to a single site installation. I’m working on it, though.
