Archive Layouts not Displaying

Hey Team,

I’ve set up a couple of archive Layouts but they aren’t displaying on the front-end.

I’m sure I have them assigned correctly, but so I’m not sure why they aren’t being activated. I am running a child theme with custom post types, but I am using WP’s core categories feature and have switched to parent theme but the issue still persists.

Please advise—thanks in advance!

Hello @kjroelke,

Thanks for writing to us.

Please make sure you have assigned the layout properly. Please have a look at our doc.

I would also suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing for Plugin Conflict
  2. CSS/JS Customization
  3. Version Compatibility
  4. Disabling Cache

If none of those work, please send your details in a secure note. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts

Thanks

Hey KJ,

You have no posts for Communications.

I’ve added a test post and now the layout is applied.

I may not have posts for the category, but I have other custom post types with the category.

Can I not use the layout builder to show all post types with a category attached?

You might have to add to your functions.php to get CPTs in the archive.

I used this code snippet to get mine to work: https://thomasgriffin.com/how-to-include-custom-post-types-in-wordpress-archive-pages/

@xRae that solved it! Thanks!

I thought it might have something to do with the queries but didn’t know if there was a native Cornerstone solution or not. Happy to get the issue resolved.

Hi KJ,

Glad that the issue is resolved now.

Thanks
