Archive layout not working for specific category and gives PHP error

Hello,
I’ve recently updated at Pro 6 and Cornerstone 7 one of my many website developed with Pro.

In this website I’ve made an archive layout for all my archives. After the update all work perfectly with this archive except for one specific category.

As you can see here https://bts-biogas.com/category/news/ everything goes perfectly (same here https://bts-biogas.com/category/blog/) but for the category Comunicati Stampa (https://bts-biogas.com/category/comunicati-stampa/) the layout not working properly and I’ve 2 PHP error respectively:

  • Undefined index: layoutHeader in /pro/cornerstone/includes/classes/Services/Assignments.php** on line 89
  • Undefined index: layoutFooter in /pro/cornerstone/includes/classes/Services/Assignments.php** on line 93

The same archive layout for the same category but in English or in France work fine: https://bts-biogas.com/en/category/press-release/

I can’t understand why this error and this strange behaviour.
Note: in the editing of the layout with Cornerstone all goes perfectly even with the preview of this specific category. The problem is only when you visit the public link of the layout, not for the administration.

Hello @MP_Quadro,

Thanks for writing to us

It might be the issue of version compatibility issue, please make sure your theme, plugins, WordPress, and PHP version is updated as per our version compatibility page. Please make sure your server’s PHP version is 7.4 or 7.4+ it is also recommended by WordPress as well. Please have a look at this article.

I would also suggest you troubleshoot a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings. If it doesn’t work, it would be best if you could copy your live website to your staging area. and send your details in a secure note so that we can investigate your setting without breaking your live site. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin-level username and password
  • FTP

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts

Thanks

Secure note added. I’ve checked and is everything update, WP, PHP (7.4), plugin, template, ecc…

I’ll wait. Thanks

Hello @MP_Quadro,

Please edit the custom Archive layout and make sure to enable the “Header” and “Footer” because that maybe why it is showing a PHP notice that there is no assigned footer and header on the page.

Best Regards.

Hi, yes, In the Archive Layout Builder I have selected header and footer. If I deselect the PHP notice disappear, but I am without the header and the footer.

The archive is exactly the same for this two page (https://bts-biogas.com/category/comunicati-stampa/ and https://bts-biogas.com/category/news/) if the problem is the header and footer not assigned there should be the same problem on the two page.

The header and footer are enabled for the entire site and I have only one footer and one header

Hey @MP_Quadro,

I am seeing 6 custom archive layouts. I am just not sure which one is assigned to which category. Can you please unassign the archive that you are not using? And please adjust or Priorities to at least no less than -5.

If you are using only 2 or 3 layouts, it is best to remove the unused ones or at least properly name the layouts to avoid confusion.

Best Regards.
