Archive index page showing only the selected category

Hi,

First of all, I like the new layout builder! Great job!

At the moment, I’m using The Grid for blog index and archive index pages (category and tag archive). If I select, for example, the category Art Direction, it loads ONLY the category Art Direction within The Grid. When I click Graphic Design it loads ONLY the category Graphic Design.

Is it possible to create this with the new archive layout builder?

Hello Marcus,

Thanks for writing to us.

Since you are using “The Grid” and you have selected only one category because of that you are getting the posts from only one category. You can select the multiple categories from the Grid settings. Go to grid —>Category Filter

What I want to create is one index page layout using the new layout builder and NOT use The Grid anymore.
Than I want to create a dynamic post grid with ALL the categories. But when I select one category the index page should load ONLY that category. Is that possible? I also want to show the categories inside the the post grid?

The Grid is working fine, I was just wondering if it is possible to create exact the same layout with the new index-archive layout builder and the dynamic post element?

I hope you onderstand what I mean?

You can try by using the Classic Recent Post element or recent_posts shortcode, instead of the Grid. You can get more information here: https://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/shortcodes/recent-posts/

Please visit my website, go to ‘Projecten’ and click a category. You will see that the index page is loading with ONLY that Category. If you click another category it will load ONLY that category. I’m using one Grid for all the categories and single categories. Is this possible with the new layout builder or do I have to make different layouts for each category?

Hello Marcus,

You can create a separate layout for the category archive page for that go to Pro —>Layout–>click on the Plus icon—>Enter Layout name -->Select layout type as "Archive"

Now select the template for the layout and then assign the layout for the category.

By following the process you can set layout for the category archive page.
