After theme upgrade anchor links are not working

As per you guys suggested here I upadated to Wordpress 5.6 as well as the xtheme. after which everything was good. However, I later found out that the anchor links are no longer working.

since the previous topic was closed 4 days ago, I cannot reopen the topic again.

To find out what is causing the issue, I restored the site to old state and upgraded the Wordpress again, tested the anchor links, which worked perfectly fine.
Right now, I have my main site running Wordpress 5.6 version and the xtheme version 7.2.3

But I do have the staging site with both the Wordpress 5.6 and xtheme latest version.

Can you please let me know how to fix the anchor link issue now?

Please update Cornerstone first then check if the issue persists.
