Add rel="noreferrer" attribute to external links

Hi guys,

Is there a way to add the rel=“noreferrer” attribute to external hrefs on my page? I’d also like to add them to the social profile URLs in the footer of my site. My external links are primarily housed within Cornerstone’s “Classic Feature List” element.

I’ve researched this issue and it seems that Word Press now adds rel=“noopener noreferrer” by default. However, Cornerstone may be overwriting this process. I’ve read a similar issue in the KB relating to image links which mentions using the API but this is not something I’m capable of.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

I recommend using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-external-links/. This will automatically add rel=“noreferrer” or any other attribute on your external links depending on what options you enable on the plugin’s settings page.

Hope it helps.

Thank you very much Albrechtx. That fixed it immediately and was such a simple fix.

Cheers,

Oliver
