Add More Values Inside Tags

Hi.

I just saw that the Button Element in both X and Pro uses the “a tag” I wanted to do some customization…

I was wondering if there is a way to add more codes inside the “a tag” because there are some customizations that cannot be done via CSS.

For example, I’d love to remove href and add something else.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Thank you.

Hi Barry,

If you don’t need the a tag and the href settings, please don’t use button element. That is entirely built for links. You might want to use headline elements instead. It is more flexible with tags and it doesn’t have links/href options.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm…

Okay.

Thank you!

You’re welcome, Barry.

Okay.

Great.

Hey Barry,

The option you’re looking for is called Custom Attributes and you can add Custom Attributes to any element (see https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-pro-3-1-0-theme-x-7-1-0-cornerstone-4-1-0). Since you don’t want the href attribute so you can use the Text element instead and with Custom Attributes feature you can customize it as you need. Please see Custom Attributes step here https://theme.co/docs/text#customize

Cheers!

Superb.

Thank you.

Edit: I looked around but I didn’t see the custom attribute stuff you said.

How can I find it?

Hi Barry,

You should find the custom attribute option in the Customize option of the v2 elements:

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Really cool.

You are most welcome!
