A friendly suggestion towards older documentation

This is really no more than a suggestion and if well received, maybe we could make it a sticky. I was reviewing the older documentation as I will do from time when I’m trying to tackle a more custom solution. I just so happened to come across the Cornerstone integration while researching.

At the bottom, I saw this:

The element customization which we discussed is only for the Classic Elements. There is no API available for the V2 Elements at the moment.

Since the API documentation has been launched, maybe updating that block quote oln the page: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-theme-integration/215 may help new users not familure with the API news or just having the updated block quote with an easy reference link would be a convient way for us to head into the API docs if some developers were planning to do broder intergration.

If it is at all worth the effort; maybe placing a pinned ongoing topic thread for older documentation updates, it would give some of us members an easier way to drop your team a quick reminder note with a link pointing to areas of old and outdated documentation needing a little tender loving maintenance care.

Given your Dev Roadmap and so many more important things you’ll need to get to first, it’s not going to come as a shock if this isn’t a priority but I figured I’d throw it out there. Lot’s of us comb the docs more than all of you do, so if we had a sticky it give a few of us some incentive to help point them out as they come up and make the task that much easier. Just a thought

By the way, I hadn’t seen cornerstone integration before. Honestly I was happy to find it, I’ve always been interested in seeing if I could implient my custom post types into Cornerstone. I have a starting point now. Thanks.

Thanks for all the hard work too.

Hi LB,

Thanks for sharing this. We hear you! In fact, we’ve actually already rewritten and restructured all of our documentation on a new site - it just hasn’t been launched yet. Things are in a bit of a holding pattern there until some other pieces are in place. In the beta announcement thread there are some links to the new Element API docs (here they are for reference as well).

https://theme.co/element-api-docs/reference/
https://theme.co/element-api-docs/primer/

Notice they’re in more of a temporary format until the new docs site is launched. Once this release is live, we will remove the old API article and replace it with the links to the new ones. We just can’t do that during the beta testing process because the majority of users won’t be able to work with it.
