4.3.0 Production | Fatal Error

4.2.3 was running just fine. 4.3.0 tossed up a fatal error due to an undefined function in pro/cornerstone/includes/views/partials/frontend/text.php line 112. See below:

Hi @DoncoMarketing,

Can you let me know what version of WordPress you’re using on that site? I’ve tried this out and it’s working ok here. The wp_filter_content_tags was added in WordPress 5.5 but we only support the last two major releases of WordPress which is now 5.6 and 5.7

In case, if you’re running 5.5 or later, would you mind if I logged in to check the site? I’m not sure what code path could omit that function being available.

Thanks!

Hi @alexander,

Again, you are awesome. Great call. Looks like they were running less than 5.6. I’ve not got them up to speed on the latest WP and the update to 4.3.1 went smoothly. Only issue I’m now noticing (specific to this site, not all 4.3.1 installs) is that background videos are attempting to be loaded within script tags which breaks them. Any ideas what could be causing this? Cache cleared, style cache cleared, server restarted, etc.

Looks like it may be directly related to that service worker navigation preload request thing? That error only shows up when background video is enabled (and not working).

Hi @DoncoMarketing,

Ok great! Glad to hear that’s working now.

With the other error, I think what might be happening is a different fatal JS error halting script execution and the background videos can’t be processed properly. I’ve seen that addEventListener error on some pages that had toggleable areas without matching toggles. I’ve fixed this for 4.3.2. I’ve double checked and background videos are still working, so it will probably be resolved after the next update. Let me know otherwise!

Thanks @alexander – noticed that on the same recently updated set of sites (it’s a multisite) tabs don’t work on the front end. They work flawlessly in the builder though… :-/ Could that also be addressed by the fix you mention above?

Also, to add to the previous issue – it’s background videos on upper and lower layers that doesn’t work. However, background images and <img> backgrounds work only on the upper layer. Color still works on both.

Randomly refreshed my dashboard and noticed that 4.3.2 had been published. So I held my breath and tested it on the live site (I know, don’t judge). Fixed every issue mentioned above. Thank you, seriously.

Ok great! Glad to hear that.
